"I want a few friends"

Lord. Thou knowest I am growing older....
and soon enough I will be old.

Keep me from becoming talkative and
possessed from the idea that I must
express myself on every subject.

Release me from the craving to straighten
out everyone's affairs.

Keep me from the recital of endless detail.
Give me wings to get to the point.

Seal my lips when I am inclined
to tell of my aches and pains.

They are increasing with the years and
my love to speak of them grows sweeter
as time goes by.

Teach me the glorious lesson that
occasionally I may be wrong.

Make me thoughtful but not nosy,
helpful but not bossy.

With my vast store of wisdom and experience
it does seem a pity not to use it all.

But Thou knowest, Lord, that I
want a few friends at the end.

amen

  7. Oh, I appreciate that.
You, Glenda are a wise woman. I prayed for you today, (I read a previous post?? & meant to come back & comment)
I wish that we could meet & have a cup of coffee.. I could use some of your wisdom right now...
& because you are so wise, I know, that you know, that painful comments usually come from pain-filled & possibly just petty folks.
I think you are an amazing, Godly woman.
I used to work with teens, & I always told them that God created you exactly as He wanted you to be. He creates perfection. The One who loves you & me the most, created us to be what He wanted.
I needed to say that to myself today...
& from someone who you encourage all the time... Thanks for being you...
Blessings for your family this Christmas...!!!!
