Something has happened in our family...a life changing event..
for two sweet people.
It's a bittersweet Christmas this year...

It's a bittersweet Christmas this year...
Last week hubby's oldest brother took a fall off a kitchen chair,
standing in a kitchen chair...
changing a light bulb, for pete's sake!!!
standing in a kitchen chair...
changing a light bulb, for pete's sake!!!
He didn't break any bones, just a knot on the head...
It had to be God...that he didn't suffer a broken hip or worse.
His wife is on dialysis and she spends her days in a wheelchair....nearly all the time.
He laid on the floor all night and most of the next day...with her there with him...
They estimate he laid there for 20 hours...she never called anyone.
They estimate he laid there for 20 hours...she never called anyone.
The police had to break open the door to get in there...it's just so sad.
That's what I hear him saying.
They were married 65 years in April. So completely devoted to each other.
He's been taking care of her all the time without complaint.

He spent a few days in the hospital and then to a nursing home.
They put them together in the same room.
I'm still praying things will work out for them.
They're so cute with each other.

Sure takes some of the joy out of Christmas, though.
They only want to go home.
See ya tomorrow..

Hoping for the best for you all. Merry Christmas and a Healthy, Happy New Year.

ReplyDeleteOh Glenda- That is so sad, isn't it? When they have lived together a good, long time and gradually lose the ability to take care of themselves. How wondeful, though, that they can be together in the nursing home. Not all places allow that. I hope he recovers so he can go home. Blessings- Diana
ReplyDeleteOH Glenda, you are braking my heart which was already cracked. God Bless them both.
